Welcome to the Licenses page for DeepDataLake. We provide different licensing options for the datasets uploaded to our platform. Please review the following licenses and choose the one that best suits your dataset's use case.
The CC BY 4.0 license allows others to copy, distribute, display, and perform your work—and derivative works based upon it—only if they give you credit in the manner you request. This is the most flexible of the Creative Commons licenses and is widely used in academic and open-data contexts.
The CC BY-NC 4.0 license allows others to copy, distribute, display, and perform your work, but they cannot use it for commercial purposes. Like CC BY, this license requires attribution to the original author, but limits commercial uses.
The MIT License is a permissive open-source license that allows others to freely use, modify, and distribute your dataset with proper attribution. It is a widely recognized open-source license and is commonly used for software projects but can also be applied to data.
The Apache License 2.0 provides an open-source license that allows you to freely use, modify, and distribute your dataset, including for commercial purposes. It also provides an explicit grant of patent rights from contributors, making it more suitable for collaborative and corporate environments.
The CC0 license allows the data to be freely used for any purpose, without any restriction, including for commercial use. You waive all your rights to the dataset, and it’s placed in the public domain. This is a great option for those who want to give their data freely to the public.
If you choose "No License" for your dataset, others can still view, download, and use the dataset, but they do so at their own risk. No legal protection or guidelines are provided regarding the usage of your data. You retain full ownership of the dataset and any potential legal action related to it.
If you would like to apply a custom license to your dataset, please contact us at support@datahub.com and we’ll help you configure the appropriate licensing terms for your data.
When you upload a dataset, you will be asked to select the applicable license for your dataset. It is important to choose the license that best matches your intended use for the dataset and what level of control you want to maintain over the data.
